PROBAT has operated globally for many decades and is one of the leading producers of
roasting machines, equipment and plants. A separate R&D department aligns state-of-
the-art technology with research on green, roasted and ground coffee in all aspects.
This competency – based on coffee knowledge – is unique. Besides production, PROBAT
has always focussed on improving the quality of coffee. As a sponsor of all Cup of
Excellence competitions PROBAT has supplied the roasting equipment since 2003 and
was represented on the jury, too. As a member, sponsor and jury member PROBAT also
supports the Roaster’s Guild in the US as well as the German Roasting Championships.
In the preparation segment PROBAT has been a sponsor of the World Barista Champion-
ship since 2002 and has also been active in the jury. Its know-how flows into the
products and is passed on to customers in the context of workshops as well as various
organisations such as SCAA and SCAE.
